Storm and Flood Cleanup in Kansas City

When the whole metro floods at once, restoration phones ring for days and out of state crews roll in. We are here before the storm and still here after.

Everyone calls on the same afternoon

A storm loss is not just a water loss. It is a water loss competing with several hundred other water losses for the same pool of equipment and technicians, in the same twelve hours.

Meanwhile you are trying to work out where the water actually came from, because the answer changes how the claim is handled. Roof intrusion, window failure, groundwater and sewer surcharge are four different conversations with your carrier.

A company that is still here in November

Storm chasers arrive after a big weather event, take the easy work, and are unreachable by the time a problem surfaces. That is not a hypothetical in this market, it happens after every major storm.

We live here. We carry water mitigation liability insurance written for this work and our technicians are IICRC certified. If something needs revisiting in six months, you will be able to find us.

How we work a storm event

01

Triage on the phone

We tell you what to do before we arrive, including how to stop further damage safely.

02

Source identification

Where the water came from, documented, because it changes the claim.

03

Extraction and drying

The same process as any water loss, run under time pressure, with the same daily readings.

04

Documentation

Photographs and logs that hold up when a carrier is processing hundreds of claims at once.

Why calling early actually matters

In a metro wide event the scarcest resource in the city is drying equipment. Not labour, not trucks. Dehumidifiers. Everyone calls at once and equipment gets committed within hours.

The difference between calling Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning is often the difference between drying starting immediately and drying starting in three days. That gap is where a floor gets lost.

What we see after a storm

  • Roof and flashing failures during high wind
  • Window and door intrusion from driving rain
  • Groundwater through foundations and basement walls
  • Sump pump failure or overwhelm
  • Sewer surcharge and backup during heavy rainfall
  • Fallen limb damage that opens a structure to weather

What finished looks like

The source was identified and documented, so your claim is about the right thing. Drying started early enough to save materials rather than replace them. Your file is complete enough to move through a carrier that is buried in claims. And the company that did the work is still a phone call away next season.

Questions we get asked

Why does calling early matter so much in a storm?

During a metro wide weather event the scarcest resource in the city is drying equipment, not labour. Everyone calls at once and equipment gets committed fast. Calling early is often the difference between drying starting today and drying starting in three days.

Is flooding covered by homeowners insurance?

Rising surface water normally requires separate flood coverage through the National Flood Insurance Program. Water that enters through a roof or window failure during a storm is often treated differently. Where the water came from matters a great deal for the claim, which is one of the things we document carefully.

How do I know you will still be here afterwards?

Out of state crews arrive after big storms and leave once the work dries up. We are a Kansas City company and we carry water mitigation liability insurance specifically for this work. Ask for the certificate any time.
